PH Embassy in Manama Launches WhatsApp Notification of Passport Releasing
PHOTO: The Philippine Embassy in Manama launched its WhatsApp Notification Project for passport applications to speed up the Embassy’s ability to inform clients on the release of their passports.
Ms. Michelle Joy Garibay, who applied for her passport on 03 February 2019, was among the first batch of applicants who received the WhatsApp notification that their passports may already be claimed from the Embassy’s consular section. She received the Embassy’s WhatsApp message on 12 February 2019, and claimed her passport on 13 February 2019. The first batch of WhatsApp notifications was sent to a total of 107 passport applicants.
In order to avail of the service, passport applicants are requested to register their names, as it appears on their passports, and their WhatsApp numbers at the Embassy’s designated counter.
The project was launched through the assistance of Engineer Benjamin T. Descallar Jr., who designed the notification system for the Embassy. (Manama PE photo)
