24 January 2014 - Philippine Ambassador to China Erlinda F. Basilio has assumed as Chairperson of the ASEAN Committee Beijing (ACB), as she formally accepted the ACB Chairmanship during the Committee’s Meeting on January 18. The ACB is composed of the Ambassadors of ASEAN Embassies in Beijing.

The Philippine chairmanship will focus on promoting ASEAN awareness and raising the profile of ASEAN in China. As part of this objective, the ACB’s workplan during the Philippines’ chairmanship includes actively liaising with ASEAN and Chinese stakeholders towards further enhancing cooperation in trade, investment, tourism, education, culture and other areas.
