PH Consul General Attends Change-of-Command Ceremony of Commander of Submarine Force, U.S. Pacific Fleet

HONOLULU 28 February 2019 – Consul General to Honolulu Joselito A. Jimeno attended the ceremony of the change-of-command ceremony of Commander of the Submarine Force, U.S. Pacific Fleet (COMSUBPAC) at Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam on 21 February 2019.
Rear Admiral (RADM) Daryl L. Caudle turned over the command of COMSUBPAC to RADM Blake Converse.
The new leader of the United States Navy’s Pacific submarine force pledged to keep the command “forward-leaning for combat operations” in an age of fast-moving technological change. RADM Converse intends to place new emphasis on expeditionary logistics and maintenance, which includes crew training and continuing to adapt to advances in technology.
COMSUBPAC encompasses 60 percent of the U.S.’ submarine force and has elements operating from the Eastern Pacific to the Indian Ocean. Thirteen thousand sailors and civilians are assigned to the command.
RADM Caudle will be assuming duties as deputy director for Strategy, Plans and Policy (J-5) at the Pentagon. For his service, RADM Caudle was awarded the Legion of Merit. END
