PH Consulate General in Milan Thanks Modena City for FilCom Events Venue

MILAN 28 February 2019 – Consul General Irene Susan B. Natividad attended the ribbon-cutting and ceremonial presentation of facilities provided by the comune of Modena for activities of the Filipino Community on 23 February 2019.

The space, referred to as ‘locale’, situated in a city government building along Via Spontini, is intended to serve as venue Filipino Community activities, notably the regular mobile consular missions in Modena organized by the Philippine Consulate General in Milan.

Consul General Natividad was joined by Assessora Giuliana Urbelli, and other officials of the commune, and Federazione Assozzazione Filippine di Modena (FEDAFILMO) President Gregorio Mendoza during the presentation ceremonies.

Assessora Urbelli, whose office is in charge for welfare and social cohesion, sanitation, integration and citizenship, said that the space, which is also open for use by other nationalities, is made available by the comune to symbolize the recognition that it gives to the important role that foreigners, including the Filipinos, play in Modena.

She said that in addition to the activities of the Consulate General, it could also be utilized for meetings and social events. She said she looks forward to further collaborating with the Filipino Community and the Consulate General on important projects for the benefit of the Filipinos in Modena.

For her part, Consul General Natividad thanked the City of Modena for the support of the comune to the Filipino Community. She also conveyed her appreciation to community leaders for nurturing good relations with the comune and expressed the hope that the facilities provided by the comune will encourage more collaborative projects between the Comune, the Filipino Community, and the Consulate General.

Consul General Natividad and Assessora Urbelli later led a discussion to prepare for the drug awareness seminar that the Consulate General and the comune of Modena are planning to hold in April 2019. END
