PH Ambassador, Australian Agri Secretary Discuss Developments on Trade and Cooperation

PHOTO: Ambassador to Australia Ma. Hellen B. De La Vega met with Australian Department of Agriculture and Water Resources Secretary Daryl Quinlivan on 15 February 2019. The two officials discussed the status of agricultural trade between the Philippines and Australia and other areas where further trade maybe developed. Australia is the top source of wheat and meslin of the Philippines. 

Agriculture cooperation is also a significant element of bilateral relations between the two countries. In December 2018, the Philippine Council for Agriculture, Aquatic and Natural Resources Research and Development signed a new 10-year agreement with the Australian Centre for International Agricultural Research to further strengthen capacity-building.
