PH Ambassador and Australian MP Discuss Vibrancy of Filipino Community in Australia, Push for Stronger PH-AU Relations

MP Husic considers the Filipino Community one of the largest and most energetic groups in the electorate of Chifley, with Filipinos make up 10 percent of the total electorate. Ambassador De La Vega expressed appreciation for MP Husic’s strong support for the Filipino Community and his recognition of the immense contributions of Filipinos to Australia’s multicultural society.

Ambassador De La Vega shared that the Philippines and Australia will celebrate 75 years of diplomatic relations in 2021, and her hope that the MP will participate in this celebration as a champion for Filipinos in Australia. MP Husic talked about the broad relations of Australia with the Philippines and the countries in ASEAN, and expressed interest in doing more with countries in the region. (Canberra PE photo)
