28 January 2013 - On January 27, a day after 100 male overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) were endorsed for repartiation, 94 females and 53 children received assistance from the Philippine Consulate General in the processing of exit visas at the General Services Center (GSC) facility in Al-Shumaisy, about 60 km outside Jeddah.

The Consulate General and Saudi authorities are working together to finally repatriate the remaining 1,000 or so stranded OFWs through a special arrangement of bringing in 100 OFWs daily to GSC. The Consulate General provides buses and provisions such as food and water in the transport of the Filipinos. END
