Agana Filipino artist exhibit1

28 January 2014 - The Philippine Consulate General in Agana graced the opening of the Guam Filipino Artists (GFA) art exhibit entitled “Images 3” on January 26 at the Agana Shopping Center.

GFA was established in June 2011 and is composed of Filipino and Filipino-American visual artists based in Guam. 

Featured in the exhibit are the artworks of fifteen (15) Filipino and Filipino-American artist-members of GFA consisting of paintings depicting various aspects of life and nature using oil on canvas, water color, pastel, acrylic and mix media, photography, metal sculpture and embossing as well as quilt art. Subjects include objects, flowers, panoramic landscape and sceneries in the Philippines and Guam, abstracts, portraits, among others.     

Consul Edgar Tomas Q. Auxilian together with Senator V. Anthony Ada of the 32nd Guam Legislature, Mr. Emelio Uy, businessman and chairman of the Filipino community of Guam (FCG) Board of Trustees, Ms. Monica Guzman, chairperson of Guam Council on the Arts and Humanities, Consul Maria Paz G. Cortes, Mr. Meliton Santos, Jr, president of Guam Filipino Artists, Mr. Rolly Zepeda, Vice President of the Guam Filipino Artists and Mr. Winston Elicito of the office of Senator Frank Aguon, Jr. led the ribbon cutting ceremony.

The exhibition will run until 01 February 2014. END
