PH Consulate General in Los Angeles Hosts “How to Invest in the Right Franchise” Seminar

LOS ANGELES 07 March 2019 — The Philippine Consulate General in Los Angeles hosted a seminar on franchising titled, “How to Invest in the Right Franchise” Seminar, a collaborative project of the U-Franchise and the Federation of the Philippine American Chamber of Commerce (FPACC).
The seminar was held on 19 February 2019 at the Consulate General’s Community Hall.
In his welcome remarks, Consul General to Los Angeles Adelio Angelito Cruz highlighted the growth of the franchising industry in the Philippines, from being an incubator market of American brands to having more than 1,600 homegrown brands.
He further noted that the franchising industry has become a catalyst for Philippine economic growth, stimulating job creation and small enterprises.
Philippine Franchise Association Chairman for ASEAN, Francorp Philippines Chief Operating Officer of and Philippine delegation head Christopher Lim provided tips on how to choose the right franchise with potential sustained growth.
The two-hour seminar also showcased success stories of three homegrown franchising companies in the Philippines: LT&G Credit Line, a leader in micro-lending; Café La Tea, which has over 15 branches all over the Philippines, and Blugré Coffee, a homegrown Davao brand and known for its signature drink, durian coffeeccino.
The collaboration with FPACC on the conduct of franchising seminar is part of the Consulate General’s continuing program on trade and investment promotion. END
