JAKARTA 07 March 2019 – Ambassador to Indonesia Leehiong T. Wee met with Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KADIN) Chair Rosan Roeslani on 21 January 2019 in Jakarta, and discussed developments on Philippine-Indonesia trade and investment relations.
The Philippine Embassy in Jakarta is focused on increasing trade and investment between the Philippines and Indonesia, and one of its strategies is the promotion of Philippine educational institutions in Indonesia as well as cooperative endeavors in education services.
Recently, Ambassador Wee welcomed the announcement of PHINMA Corporation, under its education arm PHINMA Education Holdings, Inc., about its investment amounting to PhP278 million in a joint venture with Indonesia’s Tripersada Global Manajemen, called PT Ind Phil Managemen (IPM). The joint venture agreement was signed on 11 February 2019.
Ambassador Wee shared the same view with PHINMA that the investment represents the company’s footprint in Indonesian education space of 260 million people.
According to the news article published by Business World, PT IPM will handle tertiary institutions for Yayasan Triputra Persada Horizon Education, the first of which will be located in West Java.
The Embassy hopes to continue its advocacy in promoting trade and investment as well as increasing people-to-people exchanges between the Philippines and Indonesia. END
