PH Consulate General in Dubai Holds Free Training for Future Filipino Exporters

DUBAI 07 March 2019 – The Philippine Consulate General in Dubai, together with the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) and the Philippine Investment and Trade Center Dubai, conducted a free seminar for prospective Filipino investors on basic exporting and business opportunities in the Philippines on 15 February 2019.
More than 60 participants attended the seminar, some of them previous participants of the Consulate General’s financial literacy training.
DTI officials, led by Undersecretary Abdulgani Macatoman, discussed exporting procedures and business opportunities in agriculture. Representatives from Philippine enterprises whose products are currently present in the UAE market also shared their stories on how they started in the exporting industry, and hurdled the challenges of doing business globally.
The seminar is line with the Consulate General’s Financial Literacy Program that was launched in 2017 and provides free training and seminars to Filipinos on financial management, investments, and entrepreneurship in efforts to create a new base of business leaders in the Philippine and global economy.
With the assistance of Dubai-based Filipino financial experts, the Consulate General developed training modules on savings, budgeting, debt management, insurance and investments, entrepreneurship, and re-integration program of the Philippine government for returning overseas Filipinos. END
