PHOTO: On the invitation of the ANU Philippines Project, Presidential Legislative Liaison Office Undersecretary Gerard Salapantan discussed updates on the socio-economic agenda and key legislative priorities of the administration of President Rodrigo Roa Duterte at the Australian National University on 26 February 2019.
Undersecretary Salapantan said that of the six measures certified by the President for its immediate enactment, four have been signed into law. These are the Tax Reform for Acceleration and Inclusion Act, Bangsamoro Organic Law, Rice Tariffication Act and Revised Base Pay Schedule of Military and Uniformed Personnel.
Of the 55 priority legislations, 13 have been enacted. These include, among others, the National Identification System Act, Amendments to the New Central Bank Act, National Mental Health Care Delivery System and Occupational Safety and Health Standards Law.
The priority legislations reflect the key campaign promises of the President.
