PH Embassy in Islamabad Participates in Binoria University Int’l Annual Event

ISLAMABAD 19 March 2019 – The Philippine Embassy in Islamabad participated in the annual event and Dinner 2019 of the Binoria University International in Karachi, Pakistan on 16 March 2019.
The annual event gathered representatives from the diplomatic community, federal officials of the Sindh government, and representatives of the business and religious sectors.
In his plenary speech during the event, Embassy Third Secretary and Vice Consul Anwar Ito highlighted the long history of people-to-people exchanges between the Philippines and Pakistan especially among international students on specific fields such as medical and business on the one hand, and Islamic education on the other.
As the Philippines and Pakistan celebrate the 70th anniversary of the establishment of their bilateral relations this year, strengthening cooperation through encouraging international students on both sides is an area of great potential and interest.
He also encouraged the Filipino students to seize the opportunity of learning from the University with the end in view of utilizing their learnings to serve their country and community in the Philippines.
Founded in 1979, the Binoria University International (also referred to as Jamia Binoria) is an international Islamic educational institute in Karachi, and is regarded as one of the most prestigious and modern Islamic institutions in Pakistan.
As of latest enrollment data, 11 Filipinos are enrolled in their Aleem Program, a six-year course focused on Islamic Theology. END
