PH Consulate General in Jeddah Renders Consular Mobile Services in Ta’if

JEDDAH 20 March 2019 — As part of its mandate to deliver consular services to Filipinos under its jurisdiction, a team from the Philippine Consulate General in Jeddah rendered consular mobile services for Filipinos in Ta’if, Saudi Arabia on 15 to 16 February 2019.
The consular team processed 450 new passport applications, seven passport extensions, 48 notarials, three authorizations, and 69 applications for police clearance.
Representatives from the Philippine Overseas Labor Office (POLO), Pag-IBIG and Social Security System also joined the consular mission to offer their respective services. A separate team from the Consulate General’s Assistance-to-Nationals Section replied to queries and requests for assistance from concerned overseas Filipino workers.
Consul General to Jeddah Edgar Badajos, who led the consulr mission team, reminded those who have registered as overseas voters that the election period for the 2019 Senatorial and Party-List Elections will be held from April 13 to May 13. He encouraged them to exercise their right to vote and to choose wisely among the various candidates running for senator and party-list representative.
The consular mission in Ta’if was successfully conducted with the support and cooperation of members of the Filipino Community led by Mr. Edgardo Pascua.
Ta’if is located some 172 kilometers east of Jeddah, and is home to an estimated 10,000 Filipinos working as nurses, construction and maintenance personnel, and laborers. END
