PH Embassy in Baghdad Promotes PH at Middle East Tourism Expo
PHOTO: The Philippine Embassy in Baghdad, led by Chargé d’Affaires and Consul General Julius D. Torres, promoted Philippine destinations during the Middle East Tourism Expo (METEX) held at the Erbil International Fair Grounds on 17-20 March 2019.
Inaugurated by Kurdistan Regional Government Prime Minister Nechirvan Barzani and Iraqi Minister of Culture and Tourism Abdulameer al-Hamdani, the Expo was participated by over 250 companies in the tourism sector such as airlines, travel agencies, tour operators, hotels, resorts and restaurants.
Vice Consul Jomar T. Sadie and Administrative Officer Jerome F. Friaz answered queries from participants, and distributed visa information as well as various tourism promotion flyers from the Department of Tourism. The Embassy also promoted several videos of Philippine destinations from its booth adorned by “It’s More Fun in the Philippines” posters.
The second event of its kind in Iraq, METEX 2019 is the leading exhibition for inbound and outbound Middle Eastern market and is organized annually so that tourism professionals can meet and collaborate. (Baghdad PE photos)
