1 July 2013 – The Philippine Embassy in Riyadh conducted its 17th mobile consular services or Embassy on Wheels (EOW) at the Al Jazeera International School in Dammam on June 27 and 28 where consular documentation services were also extended to “overstaying” Filipinos.
The five-member Embassy team was led by Vice Consul Maria Angelica C. Genotiva, and assisted by the Filipino community in Al Khobar.
Thousands of Filipinos availed of the two-day EOW, with more than half or 1,430 of them claiming their passports.
The Philippine Embassy provided additional appointment slots for passport renewals and extended its services until 11:00 in the evening of 27 June 2013 in order to accommodate the large number of Filipinos wanting to renew their passports.
The team provided 816 passport renewal services and 30 lost passport applications, extended 92 passports, issued 10 travel documents, provided 276 authentication, notarial / certification services and registered 37 births.
A total of 2,691 services were provided during the two-day EOW in Al Khobar.
The next Embassy on Wheels in Al Khobar originally scheduled on July 11 and 12 will be moved to July 12 and 13 in the same venue, due to the change in the days of the weekend in Saudi Arabia.
