PH Ambassador to UAE Presents Credentials as Permanent Rep to the Int’l Renewable Energy Agency

ABU DHABI 27 March 2019 – Ambassador to the United Arab Emirates Hjayceelyn M. Quintana presented her credentials as Permanent Representative to the International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA) to Director-General Adnan Z. Amin at the Agency’s headquarters in Abu Dhabi on 13 March 2019.

During the presentation, Ambassador Quintana confirmed the Philippines’ commitment to renewable energy development and the country’s continued support to the Agency and its work.

For his part, Director-General Amin remarked on IRENA’s excellent relations with the Philippines, including the Agency’s recent activities in the country. The Director-General also congratulated Ambassador Quintana on her accreditation as Permanent Representative.

There are currently 51 Permanent Representatives accredited to IRENA.

IRENA is an intergovernmental organization that supports countries in their transition to a sustainable energy future, and serves as a platform for international cooperation, a center of excellence, and a repository of policy, technology, resource and financial knowledge on renewable energy.

The organization promotes the widespread adoption and sustainable use of all forms of renewable energy, including bioenergy, geothermal, hydropower, ocean, solar, and wind energy. END
