Italian Students Learn about Philippine Diplomacy, Culture

ROME 01 April 2019 — As part of its cultural diplomacy efforts, Ambassador to Italy Domingo P. Nolasco gave a lecture on Philippine diplomacy and culture to a class of 25 Italian students from Liceo Linguistico Radice at the Philippine Embassy in Rome on 27 March 2019.
The lecture is part of the Embassy’s participation in the series of activities under the Embassy Adoption Program of Global Action. The program is expected to culminate with the conduct of a Model United Nations activity at the World Food Programme, where the students from Liceo Linguistico Radice are set to represent the Philippines.
Ambassador Nolasco introduced Philippine food to the Italian students from Liceo Linguistico Radice. Pancit sotanghon and canton (sautéed rice and egg noodles), puto (steamed rice cakes), and cassava bibingka (cassava cake) were served during the event.
The students also learned about Philippine diplomacy, culture, national symbols, dance, and tourism sites. END
