BUDAPEST 03 April 2019 – As part of its mandate to provide consular services to Filipinos under its jurisdiction, the Philippine Embassy in Budapest conducted its first mobile consular outreach in Bucharest, Romania for 2019 at Mercure City Center Hotel on 16-17 March 2019.

The consular outreach team was composed of Embassy’s Attachés Iluminada Manalo, Lallaine Marie Uy and Mario Simbulan.

The consular outreach activity is a regular event undertaken by the Embassy in response to the need for consular services of hundreds of Filipino nationals in Romania.  As in previous outreach programs, the Filipino Community in Romania (TFCR), led by its President Rouen Reyes, actively assisted the Embassy team.

During the consular outreach program, a total of 153 consular services were rendered.  These included 89 passport renewals, 43 notarials and authentications, two National Bureau of Investigation clearances, and 21 civil registries. Queries and assistant-to-nationals matters were also addressed, while a brief meeting with Filipino community leaders was also held.  END
