Philippine Ambassador Calls on Argentine Chief Of Federal Police

BUENOS AIRES 05 APRIL 2019 — Philippine Ambassador to Argentina Linglingay F. Lacanlale called on the Argentine Federal Police Chief, General Comissioner Nestor Roncaglia, on 27 March 2019, during which they exchanged views on the  campaign against illegal drugs.

General Comissioner Roncaglia is a career police officer with extensive experience in leading Argentina’s anti-illegal drug campaign. He is also Vice President of Interpol for the Americas.

During the meeting, Ambassador Lacanlale discussed the Philippine Government’s holistic approach to the drug problem. For Commissioner Roncaglia, the drug problem is among the most pressing issues facing all countries today, with a global and transnational reach.

Commissioner Roncaglia also underscored the importance of educating the youth in combating drugs, expressing concern that misguided youth will only perpetuate social structures in which the drug trade thrives.

The meeting concluded with an exchange of gifts, and Commissioner Roncaglia giving a tour of the historic police headquarters to Ambassador Lacanlale. END
