PH Ambassador to Austria Assumes Chairship of ASEAN Committee

VIENNA 08 April 2019 – Ambassador to Austria Maria Cleofe R. Natividad took over the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) Vienna Committee (AVC) chairmanship from Myanmar Ambassador, San Lwin, during the 48th AVC Meeting at the residence of Myanmar Ambassador on 28 March 2019 in Vienna, Austria.
In her acceptance speech, Ambassador Natividad said that the Philippine Embassy in Vienna’s chairmanship “will be underpinned by the goals of promoting ASEAN’s people-oriented, people-centered community.” She mentioned her plans to lead activities that will promote stronger relations between ASEAN and Austria such as political dialogues, and academic, cultural and sports events.
Following the turnover ceremony, Ambassador San Lwin hosted a lunch for the delegations of fellow ASEAN Missions in Vienna and thanked the AVC members for their support during his Chairmanship, expressing full confidence in Ambassador Natividad’s leadership of the AVC. END
