JEDDAH 08 April 2019 — As part of its mandate to deliver consular services to Filipinos under its jurisdiction, a team from the Philippine Consulate General in Jeddah rendered Consular Mobile Services (CMS) for Filipinos in Yanbu, a major sea port and industrial area in Western Saudi Arabia on 05-06 April 2019.

The consular team processed 249 new passport applications, 24 notarials, six authentication of documents.

Representatives from the Philippine Overseas Labor Office, Pag-IBIG and Social Security System also joined the consular mission to offer their respective services. A separate team from the Consulate’s Assistance-to-Nationals Section replied to queries and requests for assistance from concerned overseas Filipino workers.

Consul General Edgar Badajos, who led the CMS team, reminded those who have registered as Overseas Voters that the election period for the 2019 National Elections will start on April 13 until May 13 (up to 1800hrs, Philippines Standard Time). He encouraged them to exercise their right to vote and to choose wisely among the various candidates running for senator and party-list representative.

The consular mission in Yanbu was successfully conducted with the support and cooperation of members of the Filipino community led by Mr. Jhun Castillo III of Kabalikat Civicom 2003 and volunteer groups, including the Filipino Community at Yanbu, Philippine Guardians Brotherhood Inc., and the Institute of Integrated Electrical Engineers.
