MANAMA 08 April 2019 — The Philippine Embassy in Manama, in collaboration with the Association of Southeast Asian Nations Bahrain Council, participated in the Communities Carnival organized by the Volunteering Development Center of the Ministry of Labor and Social Development under the patronage of Bahraini Minister of Labor Jameel bin Mohammed Ali Humaidan from 04 to 06 April 2019 at the Water Garden City, in Seef Area, Bahrain.

The Embassy’s booth featured Philippine handicrafts and food items, including Mama Sitas products and various brands of dried mangoes and dried pineapples, and other popular snacks from the Philippines like chichacorn and polvoron.

Promotional videos for Philippine tourism and Filipino cuisine were also shown during the entire period of the display to encourage local and expatriate communities to visit the Philippines and try Filipino dishes. Recipe booklets featuring easy Filipino and Asian food were distributed for free to promote Filipino food and products.

In order to promote Philippine brands and to attract more visitors to its booth, the Embassy also invited Jollibee to participate in the event.  The Jollibee mascot, everyone’s favorite bee, became one of the main attractions of the Philippine booth. END
