21 February 2014 – Philippine Consul General Maria Hellen Barber De La Vega joined the unveiling of the Historic Filipinotown Gateway Marker at Silver Lake Boulevard, Los Angeles on February 20.

Councilmember Mitch O’Farrell of District 13 spearheaded the project unveiling the Gateway Marker to Historic Filipinotown.  Historic Filipinotown is a district of the city of Los Angeles, California, making up the southwest portion of Echo Park. It was created by a resolution proposed by Mayor Eric Garcetti when he was then city councilmember on August 2, 2002. The district is bounded by the Hoover Street on the west to Glendale Boulevard on the east, Temple Street on the north, Beverly Boulevard on the south side. END
