MANAMA 17 April 2019 — The Philippine Embassy in Manama opened the overseas voting for the 2019 Senatorial and Party List Elections on 13 April 2019. Voting promptly started at 8 a.m. with many voters eager to exercise their right to choose the next leaders of the Philippine Senate and one party-list representative for Congress.
The first day of voting proceeded smoothly with minor technical problems encountered by the two Special Board of Election Inspectors (SBEIs) deputized by the Commission on Election (COMELEC) to serve the 27,033 registered voters in Bahrain.
Almost 200 voters, 55 percent of whom are female, cast their votes on the first day of overseas voting, with majority expressing satisfaction in the ease of the process and the accuracy of the VCMs. END
