PH Consul General Calls On Members of U.S. Congress

CHICAGO 17 April 2019 – Consul General in Chicago Gina A. Jamoralin, discussed important bilateral concerns with key members of the United States Congress in Ohio on 05 April 2019.
Consul General Jamoralin called on Congressman Steve Chabot (1st District, Ohio) at his office in Cincinnati. During the meeting, she expressed appreciation to Congressman Chabot for co-chairing the US-Philippines Friendship Caucus.
They discussed a wide range of political, economic, and Filipino-American community concerns in the light of strengthening bilateral relations. Congressman Chabot expressed keenness in meeting the Filipino-American community in his district. He also expressed interest in returning to the Philippines after previous trips as member of CODELS in 2007 and 2014.
The Consul General also had a conference call with Congresswoman Marcia Fudge (11th District, Ohio) at her office in Cleveland. She also had a face-to-face meeting with Ohio 11th District Director Clifton Williams. Consul General Jamoralin invited Congresswoman Fudge to become part of the US-Philippines Friendship Caucus, meet the Filipino-American community in her district and explore people-to-people and business-to-business exchanges.
