21 February 2014 - The Philippine Embassy in Vientiane, led by Philippine Ambassador to Laos Maria Lumen B. Isleta, and Filipino community members welcomed Congressman Rufus Rodriguez on February 10 at the Chancery in Vientiane.  

Representative Rodriguez attended a meeting on United Nations (UN) Disaster Risk Reduction in Vientiane and took the opportunity to touch base with the Filipino community members in Laos.

During the dialogue, Ambassador Isleta conveyed to the lawmaker the immediate assistance that the Filipino community provided for those who were affected by the devastation caused by Typhoon Yolanda (Haiyan).   The community and Representative Rodriguez also exchanged views and ideas on different issues in the Philippines.

The community expressed their heartfelt appreciation for the continued support of Representative Rodriguez to the Filipino workers abroad. END
