21 February 2013 - The Philippine Embassy in Tokyo, in coordination with members of the Filipino community in Shizuoka, organized and conducted a consular service in Shizuoka City, Shizuoka Prefecture on February 01. The mission was held at the Center of Creative Communication Building, 4-16 Ote-machi, Aoi-ku, Shizuoka-shi.
A total of 135 services were performed, with 112 Filipinos availing of passport services, 18 availing of notarial services and five requesting for consular consultations. The five-member consular team was composed of Team Leader and Vice Consul Andrea Leycano, Passport Processors Charlie Cinco and Ruena Aguilar, Collecting Officer Rey Cahayag and Technical Staff Mars Zafra.
The Embassy coordinated and worked with the Filipino community in Shizuoka, headed by Sr. Sylvia Cantor, as well as with volunteers from Shizuoka Prefecture University International Students majoring in Filipino, to ensure the success of the activity.
The Embassy intends to hold a consular mission in a different prefecture each month to bring consular services nearer to the Filipino communities within its area of jurisdiction. END
