PH Consulate General in Jeddah Witness Oath-taking of New Trustees of PH Int’l School

JEDDAH 17 April 2019 – The Philippine Consulate General in Jeddah witnessed the oath-taking of the newly elected Board of Trustees (BOT) officers of the International Philippine School in Jeddah (IPSJ), the largest Philippine international school in the world in terms of population, on 7 April 2019.

Consul General to Jeddah Edgar B. Badajos said that the role of the newly-elected officers is important in maintaining the excellent education IPSJ has consistently provided to the Filipino students in Jeddah since its establishment in 1981.

He encouraged the new BOT officers to help IPSJ become among the best Philippine international schools in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, if not the whole world.

IPSJ has over 1,500 students, mostly Filipinos. In 1997, it became a community-run school which follows the prescribed curricula of the Department of Education of the Philippines and the Saudi Ministry of Education.

Notable alumni of the school include former Philippine Ambassador to Saudi Arabia and current Foreign Affairs Assistant Secretary Ezzedin Tago, and senatorial candidate Samira Gutoc. END
