PHOTO: The Philippine Embassy in Athens opens its doors to overseas Filipino voters at 8:00 a.m. on 13 April 2019, kicking off the month-long electoral activity in Greece and Cyprus. This is the first time that the Embassy will adopt the automated election system (AES). It has employed both personal and postal modes of voting, allowing for the convenience of the 3,656 registered voters in Greece and the 5,069 in Cyprus.

Aside from a team receiving votes through these means, another Special Board of Election Inspectors (SBEI) is poised to facilitate the votes cast by seafarers in separate “Akyat Barko” activities.  An estimated 45,000 seafarers have registered as voters, many of whom are on Greek vessels.
