KUALA LUMPUR 25 April 2019 – The month-long overseas absentee voting (OAV) exercise commenced on 13 April 2019 at the Philippine Embassy in Kuala Lumpur.
At exactly 8:00 a.m., Ambassador to Malaysia Charles C. Jose was the first to cast vote when the polls opened at the Embassy.
Ambassador Jose encouraged the 18,334 registered voters in Malaysia to exercise their right to vote.
“While the overseas absentee voting exercise will end on 13 May 2019, we ask our nationals to not wait for the deadline and immediately proceed to the Embassy to cast their votes," he said.
Registered voters may cast their votes from 13 April to 13 May, from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., including weekends and holidays. In this mid-term election, registered voters will have the opportunity to elect 12 senators and one party-list representative.
