Ambassador to Kenya Meets Filipino Community in Nairobi for Easter Sunday Get-together

NAIROBI 02 May 2019 — Newly-arrived Ambassador to Kenya Alex G. Chua hit the ground running by attending the Easter Sunday mass and get-together of the Filipino community on 21 April 2019 at the Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Othaya Road, Kileleshwa, Nairobi.

Ambassador Chua, who arrived in Nairobi on 16 April 2019, was warmly welcomed by the more than 50 Filipinos who attended the monthly get-together of Filipinos in Nairobi.

In his remarks, Ambassador Chua expressed his appreciation for the hospitality and enthusiasm of the Filipino community in Nairobi and stated that he hoped he could count on their support for the projects and initiatives of the Embassy.

A Filipino Mass officiated by Filipino priest, Father Eutiquio Mula Jr., preceded the salo-salo. There are approximately more than 300 Filipinos all over Kenya.

Ambassador Chua has concurrent jurisdiction over Burundi, Comoros, Democratic Republic of Congo (Kinshasa), Malawi, Republic of Congo (Brazzaville), Rwanda, Seychelles, Somalia, South Sudan, Tanzania, and Uganda.

He is also the Philippine Permanent Representative to the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) and the UN Human Settlements Programme (UN Habitat), which have their seats in the United Nations Office in Nairobi. END
