PH Ambassador to Norway Meets ASEAN Counterparts in Stockholm

PHOTO: For the first time in years, the ASEAN Committee in Stockholm (ACS) met with six Ambassadors present, namely Ambassadors of Laos, Malaysia, Philippines, Thailand, and Vietnam, with Indonesian Ambassador Bagas Hapsoro as Chair. Except for Philippine Ambassador to Norway Jocelyn Batoon-Garcia, the ASEAN Ambassadors are all based in Stockholm.

In a lunch hosted by Ambassador Batoon-Garcia on 25 April 2019 in Stockholm, the ASEAN Ambassadors explored possible avenues in enhancing ASEAN’s image and attractiveness as an economic partner of Sweden. They exchanged views on Sweden’s interest in expanding its relations with the ASEAN countries, and the the opportunities for  increasing trade and investment flows between ASEAN and Sweden.  They  agreed to increase interaction with Sweden’s business community, including through dialogues and business seminars.
