PH Embassy in Manama Participates in Gulf Property Show, Gulf Construction Expo, Gulf Interiors Exhibition

MANAMA  02 May 2019 — The Philippine Embassy in Manama, in partnership with Designer Imports WLL, participated in the biggest triple header annual event in Bahrain, the Gulf Property Show, Gulf Construction Expo and Gulf Interiors Exhibition (3Gs Expo) held from 23 to 25 April 2019 at the Bahrain International Exhibition and Convention Center.

The Embassy booth situated in the Gulf Interiors Exhibition Hall, showcased various Philippine furniture and accessories including a natural seashell laminated lounge chair and side tables, an outdoor umbrella, rattan furniture and clothes hampers, a bamboo lamp, as well as, picture frames and decorative trees made from mother of pearls and pine cones. It also featured fabrics from Mindanao, such as the Tinalak. 

The booth also took advantage of the opportunity to promote Philippine tourism by displaying roll-up banners of sceneries from the Philippines such as the Underground River of Palawan, Morong Beach of Batanes, Calle Crisologo of Vigan, Mount Mayon of Albay and the Rice Terraces of Banaue and distributing tourism brochures provided by the Department of Tourism.

The showcased pieces of furniture and decorative items at the Embassy booth amazed a lot of exhibit visitors, and that a great number of them even expressed interest to do business with Designer Imports WLL, which affirms the marketability of Philippine furniture and decorative items and could possibly lead to an increase in imports of furniture from the Philippines.

Designer Imports WLL is a Bahrain-based furniture company that imports products from the Philippines, and is owned by Ms. Felma Taylor, a Filipina-American residing in Bahrain. END
