PARIS 02 May 2019 — Representatives of France Volontaire paid a courtesy visit to Ambassador to France Maria Theresa P. Lazaro on 25 April 2019 to provide updates on their current work in the Philippines and to introduce the first set of Filipinos that will be doing volunteer work in France.

Filipino volunteers Vhiktoria Siva and Richie Lumawag have been in France since the latter part of 2018 and will be staying until July to assist in the teaching of English to high school students in Brittany.

France Volontaire’s International Network Director Thomas Cosse shared that one of the important features of their organization is that it promotes an exchange process wherein France and the partner country benefit from the assistance of volunteers hailing from both countries. Another important feature of the group is that it collaborates with both the government and civil society organizations on various areas of volunteer work such as on education, support for street children, sustainability and other important subjects.

One of France’s long-standing and well-established international volunteer, France Volontaire has offices across the world called “Espace Volontariats”, including in the Philippines, where it has been able to mobilize 300 volunteers in the country. END
