PH Embassy in Rome Renders Over 1,000 Consular Services to Filipinos in Malta

ROME 02 May 2019 – As part of its commitment to bring consular services closer to constituents in areas within its jurisdiction, the Philippine Embassy in Rome conducted a consular outreach program in Malta from 28 to 29 April 2019.
Composed of seven members, the consular team rendered a total of 571 services, including 391 passport applications, 36 civil registry applications, 94 authentication applications, 32 affidavits, and 13 certifications. Five individuals took their Oath of Allegiance for reacquisition of Philippine citizenship.
The Embassy’s attached agencies were likewise present and rendered a total of 671 services. The Philippine Overseas Labor Office and the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration undertook verification of contracts and provided updates on Philippine Overseas Employment Agency rules and regulations to about 205 clients. Meanwhile, the Social Security System and Pag-IBIG transacted with 216 and 250 clients, respectively.
There are about 3,000 Filipinos in Malta, considered the largest non-European Union foreign group in the island-state south of Italy. END
