WELLINGTON 03 May 2019 – The Philippine Embassy in Wellington welcomed its first overseas voter for the 2019 Senatorial and Party List Elections on 13 April 2019.

Florigen Collo accomplished and dropped off her ballot at the Embassy, making her the first overseas Filipino voter to cast her vote for the National Elections 2019.

As New Zealand is the closest Philippine Embassy to the International Dateline, Ms. Collo’s vote is the very first cast for the 2019 elections. Other registered overseas voters have also visited the Embassy to drop off their accomplished ballots on the first day of the overseas polls.

The Embassy encourages all Filipinos who are registered overseas voters in New Zealand, Cook Islands, Fiji, Samoa and Tonga to vote and exercise their civic duty.

The voting period at the Embassy will end at 10:00 pm of 13 May 2019. Ballots are expected to be delivered to registered voters this coming week.

For those who have not yet received their Electoral Mails (ballots), please check the names in the list of Electoral Mails (ballots) posted on the Embassy’s website at https://www.philembassy.org.nz/consular/voting  and Facebook accounts.  END
