MILAN 30 April 2019 — The Philippine Consulate General in Milan and the Comune of Modena jointly organized a drug awareness seminar, “Droga, L’Effetto Che Fa” (The Effects of Drugs) on 06 April 2019 at the Sala Palazzina Pucci in Modena.

The event was held with the support of the Filipino community, led by the Federazione delle Associazione Filippine di Modena (FEDAFILMO).

Around 80 representatives of the Filipino community, including the youth, from Modena and the Emilia Romagna region attended the seminar.

This is the second drug awareness seminar that the Consulate General is co-organizing with local governments in its jurisdiction. On 01 December 2018, it co-organized the inaugural drug awareness seminar in Milan in collaboration with Vice Mayor Anna Scavuzzo.

The seminar featured four resource speakers, Dr. Ferreti Claudio and Dr. Maria Rosa Morandi of Servizio Dipendenze Patologiche (Pathological Dependencies Service) in Modena, Dr. Giuliana Urbelli from the Municipality of Modena, and one from the local police, who discussed the harmful effects of drugs and alcohol, driving and the use of psychotropic drugs, legal consequences of drug use, and services to support drug dependents and their families.
