PH Consulate General in Honolulu Attends Graduation Ceremony of Language Acquisition, Immersion
PHOTO: The Philippine Consulate General in Honolulu attended the 2019 graduation of the Language Acquisition and Immersion for the New Generation (LAING) Class of 2019 at the Filipino Community Center in Waipahu on 27 April 2019.
Co-founded by the Consulate General in 2015, LAING Hawaii is a non-profit organization dedicated to the preservation of the cultural, linguistic, artistic, and literary heritage of the immigrant communities of Hawaii. This year’s class is composed of graduates of the iLAING4, the fourth Ilocano language class, and vLAing1, the first Visayan- Cebuano language class.
LAING Hawaii classes are free and run for about five months. The language students are between the ages of 18 to 26 years old.
