PH Consulate General in Agana Celebrates Araw ng Kagitingan
In line with this year’s celebration of Araw ng Kagitingan (Day of Valor), the Philippine Consulate General in Agana, led by Consul General to Agana Marciano R. De Borja (right) and in coordination with the Philippine Studies Lecture Series of the University of Guam (UOG), held a lecture entitled “Undaunted: The Philippine Experience of the Second War” at the Lecture Hall of the University of Guam on 08 April 2019.
Ateneo De Manila University Associate Professor Dr. Jose Maria Edito K. Tirol (center) discussed the events that led to the involvement of the Philippines in the Second World War, the heroism and indomitable spirit of Filipinos in dealing with the harsh realities brought about by Japanese occupation, and emphasized how past experiences of the Filipinos shaped and affected current Philippine society in Guam on 08 April 2019.
