03 March 2014 - For third year in a row, the Philippines successfully participated in the annual Boston Globe Travel Show (BGTS) held from February 7 to 9 at the Seaport World Trade Center in Boston, Massachusetts.
Since 2012, the Philippines has been participating in the BGTS to promote its tourism destinations to foreign travelers coming from Massachusetts and other New England states such as Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Vermont and Rhode Island.
Visitors going to the Philippine Booth were given information materials on Philippine tourism destinations, flyers for the 9th Ambassador’s Tour to the Philippines taking place on 26 July to 2 August 2014, travel packages sold by private travel agencies, samples of Philippine-made mangorind candies, and free “It’s More Fun in The Philippines” bags. Videos of diving destinations in the Philippines were played during the entire event.
The three-day annual BGTS, now on its 9th year, regularly draws more than 20,000 attendees and features more than 250 travel exhibitors and suppliers.
Deputy Consul General Zaldy Patron of the Philippine Consulate General and Ms. Milay Blaza of the Philippine Department of Tourism in New York represented the Philippines at the BGTS. END
