Secretary Briones congratulated the schools for setting a good example in balancing academics and sports. She also urged the overseas Filipino youth to consider sports as a profession, as the Philippine government has taken a more pro-active stance in terms of promoting athletics in its curriculum.
She also hoped that this ConGen’s Cup series would come together with Department of Education’s (DepEd) Palarong Pambansa. This way, she added, overseas Filipino youth could participate actively in DepEd programs, allowing the diaspora the chance to build sturdier bridges with their motherland. (Dubai PCG photo)
