Jamoralin met with Congresswoman Janice Schakowsky on 25 April 2019 at her district office in Glenview, Illinois. The two officials discussed relevant issues of mutual interest and concern and looked forward to working on increasing exchanges on business and people-to-people matters.

Consul General Jamoralin thanked the Representative of the 9th district of Illinois for her continued membership in the US-Philippines Friendship Caucus and her service to Filipino-American constituents. Based on the US Census Survey in 2010, the largest concentration of Filipinos and Filipino-Americans in the entire Midwest is in her district with a population of 20,457.

Having attained a fresh mandate last November 2018 with her 11th term of office, Congresswoman Schakowsky serves on the U.S. House Committee on Budget and Committee on Energy and Commerce. (Chicago PCG photo)
