PH Embassy in Manama Celebrates Labor Day

MANAMA 10 May 2019 — The Philippine Embassy in Manama and the Filipino community in Bahrain celebrated Labor Day with a flag-raising ceremony and a short program at the Embassy grounds on 01 May 2019. Embassy personnel and Filipino community members attended the program.
During the program, Ambassador to Bahrain Alfonso A. Ver read the message of President Rodrigo Roa Duterte to overseas Filipino workers while Labor Attaché Vicente M. Cabe read the message of Labor Secretary Silvestre H. Bello III.
Ambassador Ver also delivered his own message to the Filipino community, encouraging them to exercise their right and duty to vote and choose our country’s next leaders, as the Embassy continues to conduct overseas voting.
A Special Health program was also conducted by the Embassy in cooperation with Ibn Al Nafees Hospital. Free services included blood pressure checking and random blood sugar testing. END
