PH Embassy in Rome Reaches Out to Over 760 Filipinos in Palermo through Consular Services

ROME 10 May 2019 – Seven hundred sixty four Filipinos in Palermo were served by the Philippine Embassy in Rome and the Philippine Honorary Consulate in Palermo headed by Honorary Consul Antonino Di Liberto during a consular outreach mission in Palermo from 04 to 05 May 2019.
Registered overseas voters in Palermo were also able to cast their votes for the on-going 2019 Senatorial and Party List Elections by submitting their sealed ballot envelopes to the Special Ballot Custody and Reception Group deputized by the Commission on Elections.
The consular team rendered a total of 331 services, including 309 passport applications, four civil registry applications, three affidavits, and one certification. A total of 13 individuals took their Oath of Allegiance for reacquisition of Philippine citizenship while one applied for the same.
The Embassy’s attached agencies were also present to render services. The Overseas Workers Welfare Administration attended to the needs of 205 clients while the Philippine Overseas Labor Office attended to 45 as part of its Balik-Manggagawa program. The Social Security System and Pag-IBIG assisted 105 and 78 clients, respectively.
As part of the Department of Foreign Affairs’ assistance-to-nationals program, representatives from the Embassy and the Philippine Honorary Consulate in Palermo also visited a hospital where a Filipino was confined. The team facilitated his application for passport renewal by capturing his biometrics in his hospital room. END
