KUWAIT 14 May 2019 – The Philippine Embassy in Kuwait announced on 04 May 2019 since the start of Overseas Voting last 13 April 2019, voter turnout has reached a total of 10, 193 votes.

“As Filipinos here in Kuwait, come in droves to exercise their right to vote, they already debunked the perception that Senatorial and Party-list elections draws less interest from Filipinos in Kuwait. Through their votes, they are thus deciding on who they wish to manage their invaluable economic contributions - through the remittances they send back home – and who they think should build and lead our country in the years to come.” said Chargé d’ Affaires, (CDA) a.i. Mohd. Noordin Pendosina N. Lomondot.

“As we have already surpassed the voter turnouts of previous years, we have clear proof of democratic maturity and patriotism of Filipinos in Kuwait. We are confident that we can also surpass the highest voter-turnout that Kuwait has ever achieved, which was during the 2016 Presidential Elections. This will make the 2019 National Elections voter-turnout the highest ever in the history of overseas voting in Kuwait.” CDA Lomondot added.

Kuwait’s current overseas voter-turnout can also be attributed to the Embassy’s intensified omni-media campaign. END
