04 March 2014 - Center for Agriculture and Rural Development Mutually Reinforcing Institutions (CARD MRI) in partnership with the Bank of Lao PDR (BOL) conducted a forum entitled “The Introduction Workshop on Microinsurance and Microfinance Institutions” last February 19 at Mercure Hotel for representatives of different financial institutions in Laos including the Lao Ministry of Finance.

The forum provided an overview on the microinsurance services based on mutual benefit model to some sixty (60) microfinance practitioners and stakeholders in Laos.

Philippine Ambassador to Lao People's Democratic Republic (Lao PDR) Maria Lumen B. Isleta warmly welcomed the participants of the forum.  The forum was graced by BOL Deputy Governor Mr. Sonexay Sithphaxay and BOL Director General for Financial Supervision Department Dr. Akhom Praseuth. END
