Madonna University President Welcomes PH Consul General in Michigan

CHICAGO 15 May 2019 — Madonna University President Dr. Michael Grandillo and Mrs. Grandillo hosted a welcome dinner at their residence in Livonia, Michigan on 26 April 2019 for visiting Consul General to Chicago Gina Jamoralin and her consular team in conjunction with the Philippine Consulate General in Chicago ’s consular outreach on 27 April in Southfield, Michigan.
The team was accompanied by Philippine Honorary Consul to Michigan Dr. Jose Evangelista and his wife, Dr. Stella Evangelista.
Student Affairs and Mission Integration Vice-President Dr. Connie Tingzon-Gatuz toured Consul General Jamoralin around the Madonna University’s sprawling campus in Livonia.
Dr. Grandillo and Madonna University officials briefed Consul General Jamoralin of the projects of the university including its “Study Abroad” program where Madonna University’s College of Nursing students spend summer internship in Silay City, Negros Occidental.
In his welcome remarks, Dr. Grandillo appreciated the Filipinos’ warmth and friendship when he and his wife visited Manila early this year upon the personal invitation of Philippine Honorary Consul Evangelista.
Consul General Jamoralin thanked Dr. Grandillo for the hospitality and offered the assistance of the Consulate General to facilitate more academic partnerships and linkages between Madonna University and Philippine universities.
Madonna University is a private Catholic liberal arts university run by the Felician sisters. Its main campus is located in Livonia, Michigan and extension campuses in southwest Detroit, Orchard Lake and Clinton Township at the Macomb University Center. Madonna University also has a campus at the University Center in Gaylord, about 225 miles north of Livonia. END
