PH Embassy in Kuwait’s Voter-Turnout Continues to Rise

Kuwait OV May 12

KUWAIT 17 May 2019 – The Philippine Embassy in Kuwait announced that voter turnout has reached a total of 14,881 votes, on the eve of the closing of voting on 13 May 2019.

The 2019 current voter-turnout has broken all past records in Kuwait’s overseas voting history, as it exceeded the voter-turnout in the 2007 (2,517) and 2013 (3,203) Senatorial and Party-list Elections.

The Embassy’s present figure has also outperformed the voter-turnout in the 2004 (9,805), 2010 (5,259), and even 2016 (12,295) Presidential Elections, totally debunking the opinion that a Midterm election draws less interest from Filipinos in Kuwait.

Kuwait’s rising overseas voter-turnout can be attributed to the Embassy’s intensified omni-media campaign, utilizing all possible platforms and avenues to disseminate overseas voting information to continually encourage Filipinos to vote at the Embassy.

Filipinos in Kuwait, who were also part of the omni-media campaign, complemented the Embassy’s efforts by also reaching out to and encouraging their friends, relatives, neighbors, and co-workers to go to the Embassy to cast their votes. END
