PARIS 17 May 2019 — Thirteen girls and 11 boys from Filipino migrant families in Paris completed the second edition of the Philippine Embassy in Paris-organized Philippine culture classes entitled, “Ang Aking Pilipinas.”
Embassy Consul General and Minister Aileen Mendiola-Rau awarded the certificates to the participants at a brief ceremony held on 12 May 2019 at the venue of their classes at the 16th arrondissement of Paris.
Building on the successful pilot class completed last June, the Embassy soon after decided to continue the program with its second run, which started in November 2018.
The six‑session Sunday classes, held mostly at monthly intervals, followed the same format of the first one, with teacher Rosemarie Chazelas immersing the students into the Filipino way of life and Philippine history through a mix of creative activities including songs, dances, light physical activities and also food tasting.
The next version of the classes scheduled for June 2019, entitled “Paaralan sa Embahada”, is being organized for girls and boys from Filipino migrant families, aged 6-8, and will be held at the Embassy. END
